Graffiti was the writing on the wall for Nicholas Hannides chef/owner of this classic American Bistro. His wall has a long history in the restaurant business, including a start at a cousin's diner, just before attending the Culinary Institute Of America. Having worked his way though the myriad of positions such as manager at Fraunces Tavern and in the kitchen of the Garden City Hotel, Nicholas placed his sights on ownership. He opened Nicholas James in Merrick, designing the decor and creating the menu. After having received many accolades from numerous critics he sold and moved on to Starr Boggs in Westhampton and then forward to Tribeca Grill in downtown Manhattan. Graffiti is now a family affair with Nicholas's dad George, a retired businessman, handling the bookkeeping and public relations for the restaurant.
